Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on March 29 visited the Egyptian Embassy in Tokyo and talked with Ambassador Walid Mahmoud Abdelnasser.
Shii also visited the Brazilian Embassy to talk with Ambassador Luiz Augusto de Castro Neves.

In these talks, they exchanged opinions on the nuclear weapons issue in view of the upcoming review conference of the Non-proliferation Treaty.
In order to achieve a world without nuclear weapons, Shii said, “As well as promoting partial measures of nuclear disarmament, it is important to immediately begin international negotiations with the elimination of nuclear weapons as the major subject.
He conveyed the intent of the JCP to increase its efforts for a successful NPT review conference as a step toward reaching that goal.
