JCP delegation holds talks with CPV leader

September 26, 2008
The Japanese Communist Party delegation led by the JCP Social Science Institute Director Fuwa Tetsuzo on September 24 held talks with Communist Party of Vietnam General Secretary Nong Duc Manh in Hanoi.

The two agreed that the two parties should make efforts to further develop their bilateral relations, which the JCP and the CPV had established during the Vietnamese people’s struggle against U.S. aggression, to open the way to a new future in the 21st century. They also confirmed their shared view that mutual theoretical exchanges are the key to moving forward the JCP-CPV ties.

Manh said that the CPV is aiming to build a people-oriented society through a socialist market economy, and stressed the significance of mutual theoretical exchanges as a way to socialism despite many difficulties that this may entail.

Fuwa said, “If you overcome such difficulties and achieve your goal, it will definitely contribute to the world as well as our attempt to share the common goal of establishing socialism.”

Fuwa expressed hope that the two parties share each other’s important lessons in pursuing their common goal though they are working under very different circumstances.
