Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on February 10 attended a gathering celebrating the Vietnamese New Year (Tet) held at the Vietnamese Embassy in Tokyo.

Shii made a toast to the New Year and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam, hoping for success of the Doi Moi policy and a furthering of Japan-Vietnam friendship.
