A U.S. Navy seaman second class on January 5 was arrested on charges of car theft in Nagasaki’s Sasebo City.

Arlan Jerry Charley, a 20-year-old sailor of the USS Turtuga, sometime between 1:20 a.m. and 9 a.m. on January 5 stole a car from a parking lot in the city, according to the Sasebo police department.

A friend of the car owner discovered the car in question at another car park and reported the discovery to the police. At around 5:20 p.m. on the same day, police officers on stakeout put the suspect under imminent arrest when he showed up at the car park.a1226
