Japanese Communist Party Secretariat Head Ichida Tadayoshi on February 12 expressed his strong condemnation of North Korea’s nuclear test, stressing that it is a “reckless action in violation of UN Resolution 2087.”
The resolution demands that the DPRK “not proceed with any further launches using ballistic missile technology” and abandon its development of nuclear weapons.
At a press conference in the Diet building, Ichida stated that JCP Chair Shii Kazuo called on North Korea to cancel its nuclear test in the Executive Committee report he gave to the JCP Central Committee 6th Plenum on February 9.
“What is most important is for the international community to make a concerted effort to settle the issue peacefully and diplomatically,” Ichida stressed.
