The Japan-South Korea Parliamentarians’ Union on February 15 held its general meeting in the Diet building and elected its new officials. Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo took up an advisory post in the union.
In his speech, Shii expressed his intention to attend South Korea’s president-elect Park Geun-hye’s inauguration scheduled for February 25 in Seoul, as a member of the union’s delegation. The chair added that he will continue working to promote friendship between the two nations.
