Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on March 15 sent a congratulatory message to Xi Jinping who was newly elected as Chinese president at the first meeting of the National People’s Congress. The message is as follows:
Dear President Xi Jinping:
I offer my hearty congratulations on your being elected president of the People’s Republic of China.
We expect the new Chinese leadership to achieve great success in various fields, including its goal of creating an affluent society. We also hope China will play an important role in solving global issues.
We will make efforts with Chinese people to resolve various problems between Japan and China and improve bilateral relations as well as work together for peace and progress in Asia and the world.
