Okinawa police on April 12 arrested a U.S. marine on the spot for drunk driving.
He is a 27-year-old U.S. serviceman stationed at U.S. Camp Zukeran (Camp Foster) in Okinawa.
According to police, the marine’s car hit a Japanese woman’s car around 9 p.m. on a street in Okinawa’s Kitanakagusuku Village. Policemen who rushed to the spot measured an alcohol level twice the legal limit in his breath. The woman was not injured.

On the next day in Kyushu, a 26-year-old U.S. airman was arrested for allegedly stealing a woman’s wallet at a restaurant in Fukuoka City. He is stationed at the U.S. Yokota base in Tokyo.
