Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on December 13 released the following comment on North Korea’s execution of Jang Song Thaek, vice chairman of the nation’s National Defense Commission:
The JCP has pointed out that North Korea is a despotic and autocratic regime which has nothing in common with socialism. Its latest action is too abnormal and brutal. This cannot be tolerated in light of international standards on human rights protection.
