Ogata meets with Venezuelan president’s senior advisor

Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo on October 7 met with Luiz Britt Garcia, a senior adviser to Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, at the JCP head office in Tokyo.

Britt described the changes in Venezuela that took place after the inauguration of the administration led by President Hugo Chavez, the current political situation, and the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV).

Citing the recent development of Latin American countries’ moves toward political changes and the regional integration which seeks to free them from the negative influence of neoliberalism and U.S. interests, Ogata said that the late President Chavez and the Venezuelan government have played a major role in helping to promote that advance. Ogata also explained about the current political situation in Japan.

Venezuelan Ambassador to Japan Seiko Luis Ishikawa also joined in the meeting.

Ogata attends Spain’s National Day reception

Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo and JCP member of the House of Representatives Kasai Akira on October 10 attended a reception celebrating the Spanish National Day held at the ambassador’s official residence in Tokyo.

They offered their congratulations to Ambassador Miguel Angel Navarro and had relaxed conversations with other guests.

Ogata attends reception at Bulgarian Embassy

Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo on October 10 attended a reception to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Bulgaria, which was held at the Bulgarian Embassy in Tokyo.

Ogata expressed his congratulations to Bulgarian Ambassador to Japan Georgi Vassilev and had talks with other guests from home and abroad.
