Okinawa Police on October 10 arrested a 28-year-old U.S. Marine sergeant assigned to the U.S. Futenma base in Ginowan City on suspicion of causing bodily harm.
According to the police, the marine quarreled with a 28-year-old man in a restaurant in Chatan Town before dawn on that day. He hit the man in the face several times with a beer mug at a nearby parking lot, inflicting serious injury. The two did not know each other, the police said.
