Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair Ichida Tadayoshi and four other JCP Dietmembers on September 29 attended a get-together in Tokyo hosted by an artists’ congress consisting of 41 groups associated with culture and the arts.
The JCP lawmakers had friendly conversations with other guests and representatives of such organizations as the Japan Federation of Musicians, the Tokyo Nikikai Opera Foundation, the Association of Japanese Symphony Orchestras, the Japan Opera Federation, the Japanese Classical Dance Association, and the Japan Theatre Arts Association.
Ichida in his greeting said, “Our party will do its best by joining hands with you and other political parties to foster arts and culture,” while pointing out that the central government has no understanding at all for the need to increase the budget to promote cultural affairs.
In the get-together, apart from Ichida, JCP Kira Yoshiko, Hatano Kimie, Miyamoto Takeshi, and Ohira Yoshinobu participated.
