Shii talks with CPV politburo member

Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on April 17 held talks with visiting Communist Party of Vietnam politburo member Tran Tuan Anh who heads the CPV Economic Commission at the JCP head office in Tokyo.

Shii pointed out that the JCP and the CPV have made joint efforts in the international arena that have had positive impacts on the creation of a peace order in East Asia, the abolition of nuclear weapons, and other issues of importance. He said that the JCP gives importance to ASEAN’s efforts based on the ASEAN Outlook on the Indo-Pacific (AOIP), and that he hopes to further strengthen bilateral cooperation by such means as holding high-level meetings, theoretical exchanges, and flexible communications on international issues between the two parties’ relevant sections.

Anh expressed his hope for enhancing collaboration through ASEAN for regional peace.

JCP vice chairs Tamura Tomoko and Ogata Yasuo also attended the talks.
