Shii delivers commemorative speech marking 101 years since JCP founding

The Japanese Communist Party on September 15 held a lecture meeting at the JCP head office in Tokyo, commemorating 101 years since the JCP founding.

The meeting was live-streamed on the Internet. Many people watched the lecture at many locations that JCP arranged throughout Japan. On the JCP YouTube channel alone, the meeting drew more than 33,000 viewers.

JCP Chair Shii Kazuo, in line with the JCP history book "100 Years of the Japanese Communist Party" published in July, delivered a speech looking back on prewar struggles, the ten-odd years following the war (1945-1961), and the years after the JCP established its Party Program (1960s and 1970s).

Shii talked about the history of party progress and developments and called on party members and supporters to learn lessons from the history and to work on building a stronger JCP.
