Shii offers condolences on death of CPIM General Secretary Yechury

Japanese Communist Party Central Committee Chair Shii Kazuo on September 14 sent a telegram of condolence on the death of Shitaram Yechury, the secretary general of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and a former member of the Parliament, to his family and the CPIM.

Yechury died on September 12 at the age of 72.

In 1997, he participated in the JCP 21st Congress. In 1988 and 2002, respectively, in India, Yechury held friendly talks with then JCP CC Chair Fuwa Tetsuzo and then JCP Executive Committee Chair Shii.
