Japan-S.Korea document pact approved
|
A bilateral agreement on the return of Korean documents was finally enacted on May 27 after the House of Councilors plenary session approving it with a majority vote, including the Japanese Communist Party.
The Liberal Democratic Party disagreed with the agreement by mixing up the issue of Chosen Oushitsu Gigi (Joseon Dynasty Uigwe) with the territorial issues on the island of Takeshima.
The agreement will come into effect next week and Japan’s government will begin handing back documents that Japan took from the Korean Peninsula during the colonial rule.
