JCP sent 900 million yen to quake-hit region
|
In the six months since the massive earthquake in March, the Japanese Communist Party has sent to the disaster-stricken region nearly 900 million yen it collected from throughout Japan.
The JCP has directly delivered the money to 88 municipalities, 22 agricultural cooperatives, 46 fisheries cooperatives, 14 chambers of commerce, 37 commerce and industry associations, and 43 volunteer firefighting brigades.
Using the funds from the JCP, recipient municipalities and organizations are giving donations to disaster victims, providing subsidies for housing renovations, restoring offices, storage facilities, and markets, and carrying out other victim support programs.
The JCP head office and its local branches have also used donations to send volunteers and various goods and supplies to disaster-hit areas.
They are continuously asking for and sending donations, volunteers, foods, and daily necessities to the devastated region.
