Shii attends dinner for South Korean president

Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo attended a dinner given by Prime Minister Fukuda Yasuo at the Prime Minister’s Official Residence on April 21 in honor of South Korean President Lee Myung Bak, who was in Japan on a state visit from April 20-21.

Shii said to the president in Korean, “I wish for the further development of relations between the Republic of Korea and the JCP.” The South Korean president said, “Thank you for your encouraging words.”

Shii also exchanged greetings with other South Korean government officials who are in Japan with the president.
