A university professor involved in the Nuclear Regulation Authority’s investigation team looking into the 2011 Fukushima nuclear accident has been found to have received about 4.25 million yen from Tokyo Electric Power Co., the operator of the crippled plant.
According to information released on the NRA’s website on April 12, Hokkaido University Professor Narabayashi Tadashi in 2010 received the money from TEPCO as funding for a joint research project.
The nuclear regulatory agency, which is in charge of NRA administrative affairs, commented that it released the information based on information disclosure law. The agency also stated that it will not change the personnel on the investigation team.
