2013 nationwide peace march arrives in Hiroshima

Participants in the Tokyo-Hiroshima and Toyama-Hiroshima routes of the 2013 nationwide annual peace march against nuclear weapons on August 4 arrived at the Peace Memorial Park in Hiroshima City.

At a rally held after their arrival, Akamatsu Koichi of the Japan Council against A and H Bombs called on the participants to work hard to help make the World Conference against A and H Bombs successful.

On the same day at the International Meeting of the World Conference being held at the different venue, Malaya Fabros of the Nuclear-Free Philippines Coalition who joined the peace march said, “I have met many Hibakusha during the march. Their energy, vitality, courage and sense of humor have inspired me a lot. The peace march reminds citizens of the importance of the call for abolition of nuclear weapons.”
