Labor turnover rate at ‘black corporations’ to be released
|
The labor ministry has announced that it will make public the labor turnover rate in each corporation recruiting new graduates through the public job placement office “Hello Work” from FY 2014.
Labor Minister Tamura Norihisa on December 3 presented this plan in response to a question from Japanese Communist Party Koike Akira at a House of Councilors labor committee meeting.
The disclosure of personnel turnover rates will provide job applicants with solid information for judging if the corporation they apply for is “black” i.e. using young workers as disposable labor.
A JCP-submitted bill to the current session of the Diet requires companies to reveal the number of employees it hires and the number of employees who leave the company. Koike said, “We welcome the ministry’s plan,” pointing out that the plan roughly meets the requirements set in the JCP proposal.
Under the plan, job seekers will be able to know the number of new hires and the rate of turnover over the past three years of corporations on its Hello Work job postings. Jobs available will be 170,000 - 180,000 in total.
