JCP calls on career service company to cooperate in regulating ‘black corporations’

Two Dietmembers of the Japanese Communist Party on December 25 visited an operator of a major job information site for students to call for cooperation in regulating “black corporations” which use young workers as disposable labor.

JCP members of the House of Councilors Koike Akira and Kira Yoshiko met with Mynavi Senior Managing Director Hamada Norihisa.

Koike outlined the JCP proposed bill which seeks to ban excessive long working hours and publicize turnover rates of companies in order to eliminate harsh working practices of black corporations.

After the submission of the bill to the Diet, the Labor Ministry moved to have public employment security offices to submit turnover rates, Koike said. He called on Hamada to help provide to job-seeking students enough information to help them avoid the mistake of entering black corporations.

Kira, based on her experience in job hunting when she was a student, said that it is hard for students to ask job interviewers about the turnover rate and about investigations into labor disputes that were conducted in their company. The need now is to find out what kind of information is necessary for young workers to obtain before going for interviews to prevent them from unknowingly joining a black company and damaging their health, she pointed out.
