Shii says farewell to outgoing Vietnamese ambassador

Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on June 22 met with outgoing Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Doan Xuan Hung at the JCP head office to say farewell.

Shii expressed his gratitude for the ambassador’s service during his three-and-a-half years of tenure and said that through various opportunities, such as a meeting with Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) in Vietnam in 2013, the JCP further developed relations with the CPV into a new stage, worked together for peace and the elimination of nuclear weapons, and promoted theoretical exchanges. He expressed his hope that the friendly relations with Vietnam, which were first developed during the Vietnam War era, will be even further developed.

The ambassador appreciated the ongoing development of relations between the two countries as well as between the two communist parties during his tenure in Japan. He congratulated Shii on the JCP advance in the latest nationwide local elections and the 2014 general election.
