Okinawan legislators have united to block the construction of a new U.S. base in Nago’s Henoko area. They set up a group consisting of 100 legislators from the state, prefectural, and municipal levels.

Following state declaration of invalidating his order, Governor Onaga reaffirmed his commitment to block the base construction plan by saying that he is determined to find ways to counteract the moves to undermine his authority.
