The Japanese Communist Party in Hiroshima’s Kitahiroshima Town sent a written protest to the Foreign and Defense ministries against the recent incident where U.S. military aircraft fired “flare” decoys above the town.

Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo met with Kawasaki Akira of the 2017 Nobel Peace Prize laureate ICAN and agreed to cooperate to pressure the Japanese government to join the UN treaty banning nuclear weapons.

Okinawans raise outcry against CH-53E copter crash in Takae
In protest against the latest crash of a U.S. CH-53E military helicopter, Okinawans held a rally in front of the main gate of the USMC Northern Training Area near the crash site, shouting, “U.S. bases endangering Okinawans’ lives must be removed.”
