Recalling past meetings with Trong, Shii wrote that he is hoping to further strengthen the two parties’ historical relations of solidarity and cooperation, which will work to facilitate efforts to contribute to the development of friendly ties between Japan and Vietnam as well as between the two nations’ people, in addition to peace in Asia and the rest of the world.

Ogata talks with Russia's ruling party executives in Moscow

On the sidelines of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) General Assembly in Moscow, Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo on October 25 and 26 talked with many representatives attending the assembly.

With Russia's Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov, Ogata spoke of the JCP exchange of views over Northeast Asia issues with the Russian Embassy in Japan and called on countries concerned to work to realize true peace in this region.

At the dinner, Ogata spoke with United Russia's Senator Andrei Klimov, ICAPP Chairman Jose de Venecia, ICAPP Vice-Chairman Mushahid Hussain, ICAPP Secretary General Park Ro-byug, and others.

He told Klimov that the JCP had strongly opposed the Soviet invasions of Czechoslovakia and Afghanistan and that the JCP had had heated arguments with the Soviet Communist Party.

Ogata handed a book to Klimov which is about the JCP position over the Chishima (Kuril) Islands and which is translated into Russian.
