Koike protests against N. Korea’s projectile launches

conference in the Diet building protested against North Korea’s launch of two “projectiles” believed to be missiles.

Earlier in the day, the South Korean military announced that North Korea fired two unidentified projectiles into the Sea of Japan. This was the first rocket launch by Pyongyang since November 2019. Following the South Korean military’s announcement, the Japanese government issued a comment that no ballistic missile entered Japan’s territory or exclusive economic zone.

Koike at the press conference said, “The JCP protests against North Korea’s act as it violates the relevant UN Security Council resolutions and calls on the nation to work for a settlement through dialogue.”
