The party obtained assembly seats in two cities where it previously had no seats.
In the Shizuoka City Assembly election, the JCP secured four seats, up one seat from its pre-election strength, and gained the right to submit bills to the assembly. In Saitama's Fujimi City Assembly election, the JCP also increased its number of seats by one to four. In Nara's Kashiba City Assembly election where the party lost both its seats in the previous election, the JCP gained back two seats.
