Shii on X: Israel and US should comply with UNSC Gaza ceasefire resolution

Japanese Communist Party member of the House of Representatives Shii Kazuo on March 26 on his X account commented on the previous day’s adoption of a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza during the month of Ramadan.
Shii in his comment welcomed the first-time adoption of a UNSC resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, and said, “This is an important step forward, though the ceasefire is limited to Ramadan.” Pointing out, “We should not waste a minute to overcome the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza,” Shii demanded that Israel comply with the UNSC resolution and that the United States urge Israel to do so. He expressed his strong hope that the latest UNSC resolution will contribute to the realization of a permanent ceasefire.
