JCP submits to UN women-related NPO 1.2 million yen in donations for Gaza

Japanese Communist Party member of the House of Representatives Kasai Akira on October 8 met with a representative of the UN Women National Committee Japan, Hashimoto Hiroko, in Tokyo to deliver about 1.2 million yen in donations which the JCP had collected from across the country for humanitarian aid to Gaza citizens.

In the meeting at the Diet building, Hashimoto expressed her thanks to the JCP and said, “Most of the killed and injured are women and children. I hope that a ceasefire will be reached without further delay.” The UN Women organization, since Israel’s war on Gaza began in October 2023, has continued to work with local women’s groups to deliver humanitarian assistance to Gaza citizens, including providing medicine and food, and the setting up of a mobile clinic.
