JCP holds meeting for stronger party among municipal workers
|
The Japanese Communist Party held an inner-party meeting to develop party activities among municipal workers on January 29 and 30 at the party head office.
This is the third round of discussion meetings focusing on the party’s workplace branches. About 290 people from municipal-related workplaces and JCP local committees took part in the event.
JCP House of Councilors member Yamashita Yoshiki stated at the opening that the task of the meeting is to discuss and find ways to improve public services for residents as well as to build a strong presence of the JCP in local governments.
Participants reported on their local activities to improve non-regular public workers’ working conditions as well as to defend residents’ livelihoods.
They also talked about their ongoing efforts to have more young people join the party and activities aimed at achieving a victory in the simultaneous local elections in April.
