JCP is financially linked with people at grassroots level
|
Following the release of a report on political funds for 2011 for each political party and organization on November 30, Japanese Communist Party Finance and Management Committee Director Ueda Hitoshi issued a comment on the JCP’s financial report as follows:
The JCP in 2011 earned about 23.45 billion yen in total, down by 1.4 percentage points from the previous year, and spent about 23.21 billion yen, also down by 4.5 percentage points.
The JCP finances itself through party membership dues, income from newspaper and other publishing activities, and personal donations form supporting individuals. The party refuses to accept corporate and organizational donations and an unconstitutional public subsidy which uses taxpayers’ money. These facts prove that the JCP can always promote policies based on people’s demands and implement such policies.
Publication of Akahata, magazines, and books accounts for 85.2% of the party’s income and 62.7% of the total expenditure. This shows that the JCP is linked with people at the grassroots level and makes efforts to fund itself, and thus, it is a trustworthy political party.
To make the JCP bigger and stronger will lead to developing the party’s capability to meet people’s expectations in various ways. The JCP is determined to work hard to achieve a major advance in the coming general election and build a stronger JCP.
