NRA blacks out all info on handling of nuclear materials

The Nuclear Regulation Authority (NRA) has blacked out all 135 pages of a document on the handling of nuclear materials for public release, Japanese Communist Party Lower House member Kasai Akira revealed on December 4.

Submitted by the NRA to Kasai at his request, the document is supposed to contain information regarding the protection of nuclear materials at the crippled Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant.

Every word in the 135-page document, including the titles of items and page numbers, is blacked out.

Public concerns are growing that a state secrets law could designate all information related to nuclear power generation as “special secrets.”
