US sailor arrested for not paying taxi fare

The Kanagawa Prefectural Police on December 8 arrested a U.S. serviceman of the U.S. Yokosuka Naval Base for refusing to pay his cab fare.
According to the police, on that day at around 2 p.m., the 21-year-old petty officer third class took a 60 kilometer cab ride from Tokyo’s busy shopping district in Roppongi to Kanagawa’s Yokosuka City and ran away without paying the taxi fare. When he was arrested, alcohol was detected on his breath.
