Ogata meets with Venezuelan ambassador
Japanese Communist Party Vice Chair Ogata Yasuo on February 24 had a luncheon meeting with the Venezuelan Ambassador Seiko Ishikawa and Minister Counselor Gonzalo Vivas in Tokyo.
Ogata and the ambassador exchanged views on the Venezuelan political situation and regional integration movements in Latin America as well as the political situation in Japan.
The ambassador explained the importance of the Non-Aligned Nations’ summit meeting scheduled for September.
Shii sends congratulatory message to Uruguay’s new president
Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on March 1 sent a congratulatory message to Tabare Vazquez for his taking office as the president of Uruguay.
The text of the message is as follows:
Please accept our heartfelt congratulations on your taking of office as president.
We expect that your administration, the Frente Amplio coalition coming to power for the third consecutive term, will continue to achieve great success in the areas of economic and social development by putting emphasis on the Uruguayan people’s lives and social security in response to public expectations expressed in the presidential election.
We hope that our relations of friendship and solidarity will further develop in the future.
