Shii meets with Vietnamese ambassador
Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on September 7 met with Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong at the JCP head office in Tokyo.
The ambassador congratulated the JCP for its achievements in recent elections and positively influencing the Japanese political situation. He also expressed his hope for further developing relations between the JCP and the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) as well as for the JCP’s cooperation in improving Japan-Vietnam relations.
Shii said that his visits to Vietnam in 2007 and 2013 and the talks he had with CPV General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong have contributed to developing the two parties’ relation well into the 21st century. He hoped for the furthering of good relations and for the success of the Doi Moi policies.
Referring to Japan’s current political situations, Shii clarified the JCP’s position on the Abe government-sponsored war bills enabling the Japanese Self-Defense Forces to use arms abroad.
