In a TV interview on an ASAHI NEWSTAR program aired on October 10, Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo commented on the recent worldwide financial crisis triggered by the failure of Lehman Brothers.

The Democratic Party of Japan apparently favors the earliest possible dissolution of the House of Representatives for a general election in order to avoid engaging in discussions on ways to ease hardships among the general public.
