2009 JULY 22 - JULY 28 JCP election platform calls for a new Japan where the people are the protagonists The Japanese Communist Party published a comprehensive platform for the August 30 House of Representatives general election. It calls on voters to exercise their right as the sovereign to give the ruling Liberal Democratic and Komei parties a verdict ordering them to relinquish power. Shii expounds on role of JCP as 'constructive opposition party' Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo said that the conditions do not exist for the JCP to join the post-election government that is likely to be led by the DPJ because it will not implement two key policies necessary for setting the new political directions that the public needs.
