JCP Executive Committee Chair Tamura said that the JCP will positively consider the CDPJ’s request for cooperation in the prime ministerial election if it becomes a runoff between CDPJ President Noda and incumbent Ishiba Shigeru.
The Tokyo High Court ruled that the existing legal provisions disallowing same-sex marriage constitute a violation of Article 14 and Article 24 of the Constitution. JCP Executive Committee Chair Tamura welcomed the ruling.
