Shii issues statement condemning Russia’s illegal annexation of occupied regions in Ukraine

JCP Chair Shii Kazuo on September 30 issued a statement titled, “The Japanese Communist Party condemns Russia’s annexation of occupied regions in Ukraine in violation of the United Nations Charter and demands its immediate cancellation.”

Extra-Diet session finally convened

The 210th extraordinary Diet session was finally convened after repeated calls from the general public and opposition parties demanding the holding of the session.

Opposition parties jointly submit bill to set deadline for Cabinet decision to convoke extra-Diet session

The bill submitted by opposition parties stipulates that the Cabinet must decide to convoke an extraordinary Diet session within 20 days after a convocation request is made based on Article 53 of the Constitution.
