Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo and JCP Secretariat Head Koike Akira attended a reception celebrating Korea's National Foundation Day (Gaecheonjeol or "The day the sky opened") on October 3 hosted by the Embassy of South Korea in a Tokyo hotel.

They offered congratulations to South Korean Ambassador to Japan Yun Duk-min and had friendly conversations with both Japanese and foreign guests.
