Self-described “pro-nuclear power” Tokyo Governor Ishihara Shintaro has taken up the role of promoting nuclear power and hurled words of abuse at people in Niigata and Fukushima prefectures opposing nuclear power plants.
During the worst postwar disaster with many people experiencing severe suffering, the JCP held a meeting to discuss providing relief to the victims of the Great East Japan Disaster and achieving a victory in the simultaneous local elections.
With the hazards associated with nuclear power plants, the JCP is urging the government to undertake a thorough inspection of all 54 nuclear power reactors operating throughout Japan and to shift from the present nuclear energy administration policy to a policy that places priority on safety.
