The U.S. is requiring Japan to pay 4 billion dollars for the expense of transferring U.S. military personnel to Guam. Inoue said, “The upper limit of Japan’s burden is 2.8 billion dollars as specified in bilateral agreement on the relocation. To further raise Japan’s share is unacceptable.”
If an ocean trench-linked earthquake occurs on the Pacific side of Japan, 10 prefectures will experience a quake of level 7 or higher and the predicted height of tsunamis will exceed 20 meters in 6 prefectures.
The government has deployed about 700 SDF personnel to 3 islands in Okinawa in response to North Korea’s plan to launch a “rocket”, causing local residents to be concerned that the SDF will be stationed on their islands permanently.
