Electronics manufacturing plant workers on April 4 conducted a protest demanding the cancellation of NEC Corporation’s 10,000-employee reduction plan in front of a NEC production subsidiary, NEC Saitama, Ltd. located in Saitama Prefecture.

They distributed handbills to NEC employees with suggestions on how to resist the company’s pressure to accept early retirement.

One of the protesters, Kitamura Haruo, stated that the plan is unacceptable since the company made a substantial operating profit in the last fiscal year.
