The Japanese Communist Party and other opposition parties held a press conference in the Diet building to announce that they have set up a taskforce team to reinvestigate the “Moritomo” scandal.
Japanese Communist Party Secretariat Head Koike Akira at a House of Councilors Budget Committee meeting requested a reinvestigation of the Moritomo issue and the summoning of Sagawa, PM Abe’s wife Akie, and other key persons.
The wife of an ex-Finance Ministry official who killed himself amid the scandal over the doctoring of “Moritomo”-related documents filed a damage lawsuit against the state and former chief of the ministry’s Financial Bureau, Sagawa Nobuhisa.
