Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo on May 9 on Twitter protested against Chinese coast guard ships for intruding into Japanese territorial waters and chasing away a Japanese civilian boat near the Senkaku Islands.
Shii tweeted, "I strongly protest against the latest incident in which China's government-owned vessels invaded Japanese territorial waters near the Senkakus and approached and chased away a Japanese fishing boat."
He also tweeted, "At the very time when the entire world should band together to combat the coronavirus, the Chinese leadership continues conducting acts of hegemony both in the East China Sea and the South China Sea. I severely criticize this action."
