The Japanese Communist Party has delivered a total of 268 million yen it has collected from throughout the nation to municipalities stricken by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami.
So far, the JCP has given 10 million yen each to Iwate, Miyagi, and Fukushima prefectures. It has also given 20 cities, 20 towns, and 7 villages either 3 million or 5 million yen in accordance with the extent of damage.
The party is also using part of the donations collected to secure and transport necessary goods to the disaster-hit areas.
