Sugar cane is Okinawa’s main agricultural product, produced by 80% of local farmers. Farmers in Okinawa’s Ishigaki Island are now busy harvesting sugar cane. They are very concerned about the government’s intention to take part in the Trans-Pacific Partnership free-trade pact.
