In the 2nd-half round of nationwide local elections on April 26, the Japanese Communist Party again achieved a major advance following the 1st round two weeks ago.
Japanese Communist Party Chair Shii Kazuo and Okinawa Governor Onaga Takeshi on April 29 issued statements respectively regarding the Japan-U.S. summit meeting held in Washington on the previous day. They criticized PM Abe’s extraordinarily subservient stance toward the U.S. administration.
Japanese Communist Party parliamentarian Kokuta Keiji urged the government to recognize Palestine as a state in line with the international trend.
